Wiper motor from donor vehicles????

I have not seen this posted yet, so hopefully it is not a repeat post, but has anyone used a wiper motor from a donor car/truck in their 53-55 wiper assembly. There are a bunch of motors constantly being auctioned on E***y from all different types of new cars trucks etc, pretty cheap. Been looking at aftermarket motors and $180 +/- a pop is hard to swallow. I saw the Jeep wiper motor pic on one post, but any others.

Thanks

I used an early 60's Econoline van wiper motor. I had to cut the little arm on the end of the motor and weld the '55 end on it to make it work.

54 was the first year to offer optional electric wipers. Ive got factory duals on my 54.
But only one visor!
Look around in rotted hulks and bigger trucks, bet you'll find some.

I guess the next thing is to go to the junk yard and match up motors.

I have seen rebuilt motors listed lately for $75. (Mid-Fifty) Can't comment on quality. I assume they are 12V. Still not as cheap as a salvage yard convert.

Ah so, I didnt notice 12V was needed.

Interchanges for earlier 6V and vacuum wipers. These are all direct bolt ups.
56 1/2T - 4T except Parcel Delivery
57-60 1/2T - 4T except Parcel Delivery and COE

If they are on a boneyard shelf they may/should be marked with a Hollanders 318 number.

AAAhhhhhhh!!!!!!!, went under the dash to remove the motor, looks like previous owner removed it, I don't have anything to reference, anyone have a idea where or maybe have a pic of the motor to at least reference. I just saw a 57-60 f-1 wiper motor online auction site and if it is a direct bolt on then getting it would at least be worth it.

Without giving it away it is Item # 1873987159

After further investigation, called the previous owner, we're aquaintences, anyhow, he said that the truck was equipped with a vacum unit and was wanting to upgrade but never did.

Vacum? I though they came with 6v motors? Well I know this junk yard with several 53-55 trucks and I guess I am gong to pick at those. At least I know how the motor looks now.

But now with a vacum unit I am guessing I will have to change the entire wiper unit for an electric driven one.
