Halloween Story

Its true there are no pirates like Black Beard or Calico Jack Rackham, also known as Captain Jack Sparrow in the world of Disney. Nor be there any more ships like Queen Anne’s Revenge, The Bounty or The Black Pearl. Piracy ended in the late 1700’s. But with Halloween just a fortnight away the Return of The Blue Pearl is eminent.

The “What” ye say? Listen close ye little goblins and witches and want to be pirates.

The Blue Pearl is a Truck with more blood stains on her then a butcher shop. She is a cursed and haunted vehicle and her odometer proves it. Ford built her in 1999, exactly where no one knows. Her original owner bought her in a hurry after his brand new truck of a different make mysteriously stopped functioning. To this day no one really knows what happened to it. It had dodged its last killometer. Although it has been said, that the sprit of the Pearl, haunted its very essence causing it’s destruction.

The man was lured to the truck with her royal blue pearly metallic paint a rare colour for that year to be sure. He set her up for his work and preceded to drive the many back roads in Ontario. Thru rain snow ice the Pearl tracked her way without four-wheel drive.

Bringing either life or death to those that called for her. You could hear her coming a kilometer away when death was about to fall with her arrival. “Whistle” went her turbo in glee. When she left those calls, there be blood inside the cab, blood in the box and even sometimes parts of deer on her bumper. From 1999 to 2004 she hit and killed three deer and still kept going after every misfortune. She was a curse to some and an angel to others.

But the tale of The Blue Pearl doesn’t stop at death, life or gore. The sprit of the truck changed her original owner. He was a good hard working family man. That took care of himself and never would he swear. In 4 short years he went from being well respected to despised. The only particulars that did not change in this time was that he was very good at his work and the Blue Pearl kept rolling along.

Oh but for his personal life, abused himself he did. He would work from 8 am sometimes till the wee hours of the morning, seven days a week. The Blue Pearl would not stop. He suffered terribly from sleep deprivation. To combat that he turned to substances that would help him stay awake. These substances caused him not to think in a rational manner hence not to act in one either. The Curse of The Blue Pearl was on him.

She lured him every morning with her beauty and song of the turbo and then held him to exhaustion every night. Finally after 4 long years it stopped. The authorities that governed his work license revoked it for 1 year.

His replacement at work started driving The Blue Pearl. But this man was older and wiser and realized that the truck was cursed. So he tried to kill her. He managed to get her stolen while parked at the office in a snowstorm. Her original owner found her unharmed but with all the equipment missing. He put many dents into her body. He never cleaned her and rarely maintained the engine. Even so The Blue Pearl Rolled on.

After a year and 690,000 kilometers on the odometer, the original owner, came back with his work license in hand. Took one look at The Blue Pearl, which now was covered in mud and dust and noticed how all her beauty was gone. Without her beauty, she could not apply her curse. But the sprit of The Blue Pearl was not finished. It is said that her spirit took revenge on the man that made her ugly. Within the first month of him opening up a business of the same nature, he totaled the front end of his new truck.

The Original owner made arrangement with an old time friend to take The Blue Pearl, clean her up and sell her. The friend picked her up, drove her to Long Point Beach and proceeded to make her beautiful again. 96 hours in total to clean her up. The friend bought the truck for one quarter her worth. Within the year The Blue Pearl was beautiful again with a few modifications like hood scoops and her name etched in her side windows. But now the curse is very different. The Spirit of the truck does not attack the present owner as it was she that made her beautiful again but the spirit and curse are still very much alive. There be 2 strange things bout The Pearl these days. If ye see her in town look away. If ye don’t within a fortnight you will dent or scratch your own car in a minor accident. If ye hear the turbo sing I highly recommend you hide cause she be looking to raid, pillage and plunder your Halloween candy. A candy goblin, with very sharp teeth and a long pointy nose, lives in the backseat.

Happy Halloween<O</O

This very same tale is told to this day in the deer communities throughout Ontario.
Beware the Blue Pearl beast with the blistering white eyes. It will come out of nowhere with only a growling whistle as a warning. So many times the beast has swept deer from the quiet hard ground never to be seen again.
Beware the Blue Pearl Beast !!!!!!!!!!!
