Not the same ol' brake question. Kind of.

I was reading through a couple of parts catalogs and it looks like 68-72 f-250's could be had with disk brakes. It also looks like 65-72 f-250's share common drum brake parts. So my question is does anyone know if 68-72 drum brake and disk brake spindles are the same or did ford use a different spindle for trucks ordered with disk brakes. If the former is true then a guy could buy new disks and calipers and only need to track down or make caliper brakets and wouldn't need to swap spindles from a later truck, as the 68-72 disk parts are available. Probably not cheaper but a lot easier. Whaddaya think?

Spindles were not the same. Disc brake spindles have the caliper mount as part of the casting.
