Post '56 Panel

Need help quick. I'm going to look at a '56 panel in the morning. I know that it is not stock, but is on a '78 LTD frame with a 351C/automatic with P.S. It was insured and on the street up until three years ago, but the owner now has another project. Asking price is 1500. Any input, or should I look then report back with more information? The owner is giving me first refusal, so time is not an issue.

Sounds like a deal, considering that 1956 may be the most desirable year Ford truck ever, and that panels are rarer than pickups.

the panel should be worth 3-4 times the asking price. If you don't want it, email me and I would be interested. I paid more than that 18 years ago for a stock 56 panel. The hotrodded frame should be worth that much.

Okay, folks. The wife and I looked at the truck this morning and I told the owner that I did want it. The body is basically unmolested, with the worst rust being on the lower driver's door. We cranked it up and drove it around the yard, so I believe that I can have it on the road pretty quickly. By the way, the engine is the 400M with C-6 automatic. It should make a good get-around-town truck for us, not to mention that it is just flat-out an unusual, unique good-looking truck. Thanks for the input, and I will try get some photos up soon.

Congrats Johnny,

I am pretty certain you stole it before we ever see a PIC.
