'07's OK to ship

Ford said they have over 1500 '07s built (including mine). All vehicles are still at the ramp. They will start loading them on the railcars right after the Labor Day Holiday weekend. We should start seeing them at the dealers shortly after that.

My Dealer talked with Ford on Fri 9/8. She told him that they had their OK to ship meeting Thurs 9/7 afternoon and released the '07s for shipping. She also said that there were over 3000 expys at the ramp waiting to be shipped. Their goal was to have as many vehicles as possible built so they hit most of the dealers lots at the same time. Sha said mine would be here within 2 weeks! But that's the third time I've heard that in the last month, so we'll see.

Production actually started in late July. That show aired earlier this spring, I remember watching it. I know for a fact that it was not a regular production vehicle (built after JOB 1 - 7/19/2006). Ford had built several pre-production and show vehicles that were never designed to be retailed to customers. I beleive this was one of those vehicles.

We have some Ford Corporate offices nearby in Overland Park, KS (KC area). Was driving past and saw a transport truck. 2 U-turns and quick run of a redlight later...there I stood next to the 2007 Expedition EL. The Corporate driver was dropping off a LTD edition at the offices and was taking another to Colorado. The driver had two. One LTD in Cashmere color (gorgeous) the other was the Deep Copper (not a favorite with me).

From the 20 inch wheels to the extra room in the rear. I cannot wait to test drive this car. It was just gorgeous. After test driving what GM has to offer, I cannot wait for this to arrive at the dealers.

Does anyone know when these will arrive at the dealers? I thought they would be in showrooms by now. I have called every dealer in the KC Metro area. I get the same answer. Don't expect these until mid to late October. I hope they are wrong!! If anyone has any additional info, please post. Thanks.

If you search dealer inventory on the website, it says that some dealers already have one. This just means that it left the manufacturer and is in transit. I called the dealership where I ordered mine, and they expect an EL LTD later this week. I'll let you all know when I test drive it.

Ford says '07s NOT OK to Ship

Dealer called Ford today to check on my vehicle status. Ford told them they have put a STOP SALE on all '07s. They would not elaborate on what the problem was, and they would not even attempt to guess when the hold would be lifted.

My status report says I still have a August 17th ETA. I guess it doesn't specify what year!!

Something is up with this release. So strange that these expeditions are late arrival. And dealers keep saying "two weeks more". Someone has to do some spying.

There was a major hold on delivery of 2003 Dodge Rams when they first put the Hemi in the half tons. My truck was held for three weeks and when it was unloaded from the transporter it had 60 miles on it as well as some major scratches. I'll bet they are messin' with something that is not quite "right".

By the way, I now have almost 90,000 miles on the Hemi with no problems -- none. They must have fixed it right.

I'm thinking of buying a 2007 Expedtion if they have more "get up and go" than they did in 2003. I had a 1998 Expedition and liked it a bunch, but it was lacking in the "go" department.

I passed a local Lincoln dealer last night and saw an 07 Navigator on the lot.

Varsity LM in Novi Michigan.

I assume that the Fords are not far behind. About 2 minutes away from this dealership is the Ford Wixom plant (to be closed, but produces the Town Car and GT), they had a crap-load of Exped. and Navis in the parking lots.
