I just got this van/truck and I do not know the year. I have the vin and I was wondering if anyone could decode it for me or lead me to where I could decode it.
Thanks
I have a 1961 Ford Econoline Pickup with the VIN number E10TH221101 can you tell me what year it is and is the model of the truck an E100 or an E103. Thanks for any help you can give me. Tim

Welcome to FTE
E10 = E100 1/2 ton Pickup
T = 170 1V I-6
H = Lorain OH Assembly Plant
221101 = 1962 assembled October 1961.
The MODEL code is listed separately on the Warranty Plate.
It could be E103 or E104.
All 1961/67 Econoline's are E100's. 1969 is the first year for E100/E200/E300's.
Even though this new model Econoline was introduced Spring 1968, Ford refered to them as 1969's.
VIN decoded using the 1957/63 Ford Truck Parts Catalog.

Thanks Bill,
This will help me out, I was wondering why when I got the title it read E103 and the year was a 1962 because the guy that sold me this truck said it was a 1961. Thanks and have a great day.

E103 is the MODEL code as listed on the Warranty Plate.
I am looking at an old Ford Econoline truck. There is no VIN data plate on the door. The title states the VIN number as "E10TH457496" and that it is a 1967. Does this VIN correlate with the year 1967? Also is there any other specific locations where the original VIN is stamped that a person can actually find? Thank you for any info.....
Look on the metal braces behind the taillights. There is usually a factory serial stamped on one of these. That will be the original.
The other location is under the doghouse of the motor. This requires you to unbolt and clean the seal goop that the doghouse boltd to. There again should ba serial number from the factory there also.
These are more reliable since they are stamped into the sheet metal. Doors get changed and the door tags do not or get removed.
Those numbers you posted are the serial number numbers, if they match the brace numbers then they are the original.
