Robbgt, I did upgrade my HPOP to a superduty one. I was afraid without it I would throw CEL all the time.

GobStopper, I don't have pics of the installs, but I did do a VERY detailed writeup on the SD HPOP install that I think would be very usefull. I didn't bother with an injector install writeup or pics because there is a ton of media already out there for that. And not to mention I do all my work in the middle of the night by myself. So if I was stopping to take pics all the time, I wouldn't meet my sun up deadline. (nightshifter)

96powerstroke, DIY-Injectors dot com is where I got them. And I did replace the IPR, it came with the SD HPOP as a deal from DieselSpecialists dot com for like $520 shipped. Hope that helps yall.

WOW, that looks great. I only hope that I can get my truck to look that good someday and have that much power.

96, sorry I was being stupid.....no, you don't have to replace or make any modifications to the IDM module. My mistake, it was thinking it was a typo and you were asking about the IPR. My bad.

another good use for the smoke we found out was tailgaters. so we were powering down the road right, and we pass this dodge well apparently this dodge didnt like us to much and so he started tailgaten well as soon as he started doin that i looked over at cody and he poped the question, should we, as i looked in the mirror with antissipation i see this large black cloud emerge from the stacks(pretty much like that one in the picture), well after a couple seconds of this the dodge got the idea and backed off about 20 yards.

fishy if you do these DIY's you wont be dissappointed, even if you dont have the right program, its friggin awesome.

That was fun wasn't it 79? Diesel Nut, I've had a ton of guys ask me the same question, and I'll give the same answer. I have no idea. I've had them in for about a week and I can't stop driving like a jackazz long enough to find out yet. My mileage before was high 17's. But I also have a gearvendors overdrive. But from days gone by when I would beat it really hard I would go through a fillup at about the same pace. From what I can tell, I don't think it has changed. I just filled up 2 days ago thinking I was gonna be good and find out my mileage, but when Austin came to see me this morning, I couldn't resist a good blast. I suspect my attitude won't change this week either. Your right, I don't care about mileage too much right now.

What cc are the stock injectors? Had you known what Jim told you about the 180cc's would you have changed what you did with the HPOP or were there other reasons to go to the 160's other than the CEL?

travisd, the stock injectors are 90cc. I would have changed the HPOP anyway. Because I know that whatever injector I was going to, they would need more oil. That's why I did the pump. I went with the 160cc's purely because I didn't want the CEL. But to be honest, I have gotten it about 3 times. But I was pushing the truck waaay past where I should. But I know I would be getting it alot more if I had gone with the 180cc's. And in due time I will find out, because I'm gonna build Stage 2's out of the injectors I took out of the truck.

What has to be done in order to prevent the CEL with the 160's and then 180's? At what point does it go beyond money well spent on a daily driver and start to create reliability issues?

The only way I know of to completely prevent the CEL because of the lack of high pressure oil is to go big..i.e. Terminator, Stealth etc. As far as when is too far. Man, that's something only the truck owner can answer. Or better yet, how deep are your pockets.

I'd love to put about 10G into my truck... making it a reliable rocket, then i wake up and remember I have bills to pay...

Fishy, I hear ya. With the wife, and the 3 yr old triplet boys, I'm hard pressed to convince her I need money for a cheeseburger. I guess things have been rollin' my way lately, cuz I'm off work for a whole week starting Saturday, and I'm spending it working on my dually. Even though my racing truck is smashed up a bit from the last races of which you saw pics of. The stroke is getting the love it needs for once.
