window motor repair

does anyone have any idea how to get the window motor out of the rear door on a crew cab. I'm not sure which rivets to cut our which bolts to remove.

yes and its a PITA! i used an angle grinder to grind the aluminum heads off those rivets (with a ALUMINUM WHEEL) and pop them out. then went and got some bolts (short as possible) to replace them with. better make sure you have a good couple of hours at least

IIRC there are 4 rivits that holds it on.
Roll window down about 1-2 inches. Tape it in place.
Punch out the center pins in the rivets and drill with a 1/4 drill. Punch out the rivets if necessary.

I did my rear door about a year ago. Couldn't find new lift arms/gears. The motor was fine so i welded and filed new gears on it. You can replace just the motor if that's what you problem is. A front door motor works if you get no listing at your parts store.
