how do i get the tail light lens off of the rear, are there hidden screws in the tail gate area?

 

2 from the tailgate side and two from the outside.

 

thanx for the info, i was afraid of that! my tailgate will not open due to a bad motor on my window. guess i'll have to fix that first.

 

Pull the inner cover from the tailgate then disconnect the wire at the two wire connector near the motor. Using a spare battery and a pair of booster cables (and a little ingenuity) -> hot wire the motor to lower the glass. If it wants to go up when you hit it the first time, just reverse the leads and it will lower. If nothing happens, then its the motor that is shot. Otherwise, it's one of the switches, the tailgate position switch on the top driverside latch, or wiring. Good luck.
