engine noise using XM tuner and reciever with alpine cd player
Hello,
Got a problem here, instaled an alpine deck into my superduty diesel truck, to go along with the deck I installed XM radio using the XM adapter and XM tuner/reciever units designed for the alipine deck. I changed my subscription over and the XM radio works now, problem is I have bad engine noise behind all the music in XM radio only, and the buzz(engine noise) increases when the rpms increase. When I shut the truck off and listen to the XM radio, the music and all the channel sound crystal clear.
Here is the email I sent to XM radio company, and they told me to call tech support.
Hi: I just bought a new Terk XMDALP100 adapter for a new XMD1000 receiver. We seem to get engine noise out of the XM radio. The Alpine tuner and CD player sound fine. It is the most noticeable on channel 0 as this is not a station. With the Ford F250 diesel turned off the XM player is fine. Have you had issues with this and is there a DC filter available that would help? We had a Roady II in this truck using just the FM transmitter and did not have this problem. The two XM boxes I mounted back to back under the dash. Any help would be great!
Anybody had any problems like this before? Thanks.

One thing to check is if any of the wires are run next to any factory power wires. Another thing to try would be to run the ground wire for the xm, I'm assuming there is one i don't know much about xm, to the battery direct and see if this solves the problem. It's something that can be done quick and tried and sometimes will solve engine whine.
