Hi all, 2002 X, Gas V10, 4WD, all of a sudden the parking brake no longer holds the truck on my hill. It always has in the past. Now when I press the e brake pedal it goes half way down, feels solid. Let off the regular brake and she rolls back. Then push the e pedal again and it goes to the floor. Pull the lever, try again, seems to have the same results. Any help would be appreciated. BTW just did 4 wheel brakes all around and replaced the rear rotors. Thanks in advance to everyone for the help.

 

If you paid a shop to do that work, take it back & tell 'em to fix the parking brake.

 

If I did, I guess I could. In this case I'd have to take it back to myself, and tell myself to fix it. Any suggestions on how I see what the problem is, and fix it?

 

i would try to adjust the mechanism. its just like the typical drum brake setup.
