Question Question about turbo

Concerning turbo choices available for the 7.3 PSD, how does the inducer ring on some of aftermarket turbos help it breathe better? If anyone look inside the intake of the compressor on these ~ that have an outside diameter of 4",will notice the actual intake part (the visible part where you see impeller) is only 3". So how does this bring in more air if the inducer part of it is blocked?

It's not blocked, it's more like it's vented. All the ported shroud is doing is changing the stall line. It can pump more air because it can spin up faster without stalling.
