upright headers

i was wondering is upright headers the way to go? what are the good and bad things about them compared to out side the frame headers i have a pulling truck with a 500 stroker motor i have been running outside the frames headers for the past 3yrs but i just decided to step my truck up to street mod now i can run alum heads and upright headers i am gonna put evac tubes on and figured uprights would be eaiser to do that to not to mention they look bad *** i am a welder by trade so i am kinda looking for a weld up kit but if it is cheap enof i might go with a set already made but eather way i want them ceramic coated. i want t set that will fit my stock c8ve-e heads and will fit aftermarket heads like tfs or? since i dont see myself affordeing the tf's this year but next year maybe and i dont wanna buy new headers.

The headers will pretty much fit anything as long as they have BBF exhaust ports. Some of the aftermarket heads have the option of adding BBC ports.

I have been running upright headers for the last 3 yrs and love 'em. yes the evac tubes are really easy with uprights. Watch evilbay, or I bought my first set from DEC headers and pretty reasonable priced. The ceramic coating is going to cost and DEC doesn't offer it but buy the headers then send them in for the coating before installing. Coating used headers adds something like 75-100 so do it while new.
following is a link to DEC, they call them demo derby headers but same thing really.

schoenfeldheaders also builds them. Look under truck and tractor pull. You can get them in either 2'' primaries or 2 1/8 primaries with a 4'' collector.

Yeah but he is trying to get it a little cheaper, list time I checked schoenfield's started around $600 and go up from there.

Edit, dang they go reasonable just went and looked (been a couple years since I was on there site) and the bigger tube headers are down to $319 not bad guess they figured out people just ain't going to spend 600 on the easiest headers in the world to actually build.
