i need some help!

I am new to this forum and i have owned a ford 150 4.6 for a while now. I havent done any performance to it yet but that is why i am on here. Will you guys tell me what good performance mods to do to it. I have heard that putting lower gears gives you more low end. if i got lower gears could i still burn the tires? lol
thanks,tyler

Well im kind of new to this too but know some i think gears would be good but other things would be cold air filter performance exhaust and a tuner would help like edge are pricey but probably worth it..

Changing to lower gears will give you more towing power but it will cut your mpg since your motor will have to turn faster to travel at highway speeds. If youdon't go too low on the gearing it will be ok.

Would 4.10 gear ratio be too low?

What gear do you have now? if you have 3.55s I wouldn't think it was too low. If my 3.55 gears go out I'll replace them with 4.10s. With the overdrive it shouldn't hurt the mpg much. I have a friend with them in his 02 f150 with the 4.6. He claims it didn't hurt his mileage much.

My friend tows a cargo trailor with his 4.6. Thats why he changed to the 4.10s. He lives in a mountainous area & said it really helped his truck on towing.
