Computer tech support needed

Ok so heres the deal. Ive got a 8xagp motherboard with an 8x video card. The problem is the video card says that its running at 4x. How do iget it to run at 8x? I suspect that a driver download is needed or something like that. What do you think?

This is a nvidia geforce 5200 video card, with a asus p4s8x motherboard.

I updated the driver last night, and actually theres a little problem with it. When i load the new nvidia control panel a program "nvcplui*****" causes it to lock up and i have to ctrl alt delete the program. However it can run in classic mode/veiw.

Whose mother bd? Not all AGP cards are the same;some require a special driver. My ASUS mobo requires a special AGP driver from nVidia.

Most of the time a driver problem is the cause. Sometimes they can be a real pain in the @ss to find too. I know whenever I hook up my logitech controller, I can never find the driver for it.
