I noticed at the end of last winter in the mornings my gears would wind out a long time before shifting. As it got warm it didn't do it. Now in the begining of this cold season, I am noticing it again. Is this cold realated or is this my Trans. starting to leave me?
It does seem to be a common trait for these trannys. Mine still does it once in a while even with a 2 month old performance rebuild on it. I am installing a BTS valve body soon, I'll post my findings.
Could it possible be a low grade transmission fluid??? Had a C-6 that did this often in the winter, I left it in neutral at warm ups and never did that.
I've also come across a TSB about the filters for the E4OD's, apperently thier was a slight change up in design on it so not to let the filter sag so low in the pan causeing it to draw in air???
When it's cold the torque converter clutch won't lock. The engine and trans need to warm to a certain temp before it will lock. This will cause higher RPM cold.
Thank you all, I will change the trans fluid.......one day. When I do I will be sure to use the good stuff. I think it prolly is a temp thing.
Thanks again!
