Windstar Power Window Problem

mark, first thing to do is check the power window switch on the drivers door. do you have a haynes manual? the switch section can be removed after pryingoff the drivers doorhandle trim cover, ( it may need persuasion with a small flat screwdriver wedged under the edges) then prying up the switch plate ...the manual says to check for voltage to the switch, then with switch in an "on" position, check for voltage to the motor. if you have no voltage to the motor with the switch in an "on" position, the switch is bad, ( you may want to try to verify this by bypassing the switch with a small wire to the motor to see if it will work, haven't done it myself) you can order a switch from your local ford dealer, or search on line possibly at ford-parts.com if you have voltage to the motor the manual says to disengage window from regulater and raise it up and down by hand to check for binding. (also a good time to recheck the motor to see if it will work with no load on it. if window is not binding and motor not working it may be the motor(replace).
its worth buying a haynes or chiltons to guide you a little. hope that helps... rick
