Does anyone know how to tan a elk hide with the hair off?

 

Shoot my dad used to do this all the time, but he is gone now, I will ask my brother maybe he knows how, he is still an active hunter.

It's kind of a nasty process, and your first try isn't likely to produce great results. If this is a one time deal, you might find someone to do it. If it's the start of a hobby, OK, but they advise to start on something small and worthless.
