1966 brakes and steering
Reg: Read the technical article on this subject on this site. Read the dozens of threads on this issue. In February I posted my first thread on this site and it was for this same conversion. It was fun to do and all the help I needed was available here. This is one of the most popular conversions on these great old trucks. The other being the addition of power steering. If you can afford it and have a place to park it, you may want to consider purchasing a 72 to 79 F100 for the parts you will need. And consider the power steering swap. It is well worth the work. Later you can sell parts off the donor truck and dispose of the body at a scrap yard. Please keep us posted as you progress.

Reg, find a donor truck 74-5 to 79. If you have a 352 in your truck you will need to find one with a 360. If you have a I6 get one with a I6.
I strongly suggest that you buy the donor, and keep it until you harvest all the parts that you need. Sell other parts to defray your cost and have a salvage yard pick up the carcus.
I bought a 76, and got the power brakes and steering from it. along with other things like the two speed wiper etc.
You will find that it is easier to pull the I-beams and change them out rather than trying to change the spindles. IMHO.
If you don't buy the donor the little overlooked pieces will run you to death going back trying to find what you need.
You can email me if you like for further questions or post them here.

Jerry, thanks for the flowers. Grab the motor on it's frame, and the wires and switch and change the arm off the spindle and I believe it will work like a champ. Darn it Seems like I had to back up and start over but if you grab everything from the power wire to the switch it wont be hard to figure out. You will have everything that you need. I made the corrections for my project unit so it will work right the first time. If I get a chance and remember I'll try to look under the dash and see what I had to do different.
