Question 5 speed no tachometer

Is there a way to install a tachometer in a F150 5 speed that did not come with one in the dash? Is there a wire under the dash that I can tap into for the input?

Depending on the year you could probably swap out the entire cluster for one with a tach. I know I added a tach to my '93 ranger 5 speed. There is a tan/yellow wire coming out of the computer that I tapped into for my tach on my ranger. not sure what it would be on the newer f150s. I personally like the look of the in-cluster tach compared to an aftermarket gauge. I'd look into swapping out the cluster before slicing and dicing at the wiring harness to install an aftermarket.

If you swap a new cluster into a newer F150, it won't start.

We need to know what model year you're working on. We ain't psychic.
