Towing Mirror Replacement

Towing Mirror Replacement
I'm looking at some towing mirrors on ebay for an 02-03 E350. My truck is a 99 F350. Seller states it will work for other apps if you drill and additional hole. Anybody know if there is a difference between the mirrors other than additional holes needed? I am looking for towing mirrors that manually extend, Power top mirror and manual adjusting lower, I believe these came on 01 and newer super duty trucks. Any help is appreciated.

I had the crappy little Dumbo ear "sport" mirrors and replaced them with the tow type that has signal and heat. (The newest revision of the tow mirrors). I did NOT need to drill any new holes, just had to run wires for the new features. You should not need to drill new holes either.
BTW, changing from those mirrors to the new trailer mirrors, is such a vast improvement, you'll wonder why it took you so long to think of doing it!
As far as doing it? There's a good writeup on changing to the signalled mirrors, but it's really simple so I'll tell ya'!
1. Pull small "sail panel" on door. It just pulls off gently.
2. Remove switch panel from door. Front edge prys up, then remove by pulling foreward, remove plugs from switches. They only go back on one way so don't fret.
3. Remove previously hidden metric screw holding door panel on.
4. Remove courtesy light lens on door panel with a flat-blade screwdriver and remove metric screw behind that.
5. Pull up on door panel to remove. Should move freely. If not, check for more fasteners.
6 Gain access to mirror wiring connectors and remove. May have to pull back splash seal.
7. Remove rubber grommets from mirror mount where sail panel was to gain access to mounting nuts. Remove metric mounting nuts with someone holding mirror to prevent body/mirror damage due to falling mirror.
8. Slowly pull mirror off after removing all nuts. Don't forget to peel back the cover on the two nuts not covered by grommets. If you get much resistance when pulling off the mirror, you probably missed a nut. Look at the new mirrors and see how many nuts you need to remove. You will get some resistance due to stickiness of the gaskets.
9. Reverse process with new mirrors.
10. Enjoy new-found safety, vision, and looks!

You might want to read this post: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/5...-gone-bad.html Looks like E series mirrors will not fit F series trucks.

I forgot about this post and then all of a sudden BAM everybody is posting. I bought some mirrors (power top and adjustable lower and telescoping) in FT. Wayne IN. for $200.00 no heat or marker. I had towing mirrors but they didn't telescope and the lower mirror was fixed which is a PITA when driving. Removal and install are cake. I still don't know if E series will work but it doesn't matter. Thanks for the replies.
