Need a great HU FAST....

Hi All, I am looking at 3 HU's: Eclipse CD5000, Alpine CDA 9857 and the Kenwood DPX 701 for the double din install. I need 3 pre-outs and great SQ. I know that should have done more research but this stuff is payed for. Don't need NAV or DVD.
So far I have:
JL 5//500 amp
JL XR 570 CSi comps (front)
JL TR 570 (rear)
JL 2-10W1V2 subs
Music Moose sub box

Any advice welcome.
Thanks, Blue

I drive two 10 inch JLs in my truck in a custom sub box with an MTX amp and Alpine HU. Fronts are powered by an old PPI Art Series (love that amp). Great sound quality in my opinion as I want nice clean sound, not a bunch of distorted trash. I hear that with the neighbors as they drive by. Yeah it hits hard, but sounds like a turd.

Should have more than enough power for a clean sounding system. Also that Alpine allows for direct IPod connection with just a cable (purchase seperate of course). Might be the next HU I look into.

Question

Hi, Your right the Excelons are made like Army tanks and they have most everything I am looking for. The DPX 107 is an Excelon. I hate to give up on my stock 6 CD changer but I need Mo power and sub pre-outs. Still looking.... Cheers,Blue

Hahaha, " Sounds like a turd". Rattling all the junk in their trunk. Back in the day, we would be out getting that rattle and buzz fixed.
Alpine always gets good reviews on the boards. Some nice features on the cda-9857 and 3 pre-outs. The Eclipse is pricey but a very good unit. The Kenwood is the only double din and looks nice installed. 3-5v pre-outs and I can use my stearing wheel controls with a PAC interface. Still looking..... Cheers, Blue

Just when you think you have narrowed down the choices to 3 units, up comes a third. I am going with the Pioneer DEH-P880PRS. http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pn...159496,00.html Anyone have that unit? It is the only unit that has all that I am looking for in my price range. 16 band graphic EQ, 3-5V pre-outs, auto time alignment, auto EQ,DSP and I can use my stearing wheel controls. Now the install. Pics to follow. Cheers, Blue
