X Plan D Plan? Difference?

Whats the diff between the D plan and The X plan? My brother in law works for a Ford Garage and got me the D Plan for my 04 F 150.

Simple- D-Plan is less money, but double-check elegibility requirements. I'm fairly certain "In-laws" are not part of the D-plan deal (immediate family only).

No, the X-plan is more expensive than the D-plan.

I think PB posted a number for D Plan the other day. Like A/Z plus $100 or something like that.

X Plan was A/Z Plan + 4% + $150. I'm guessing that is still correct, but I am not sure. So D Plan is substantially less, but I was under the impression that a dealership employee that qualified for D themselves, could not give out D Plans. I thought Ford was really cracking down on that.

On a $29XXX Mustang, the D plan saved $900 over the X.

Have been "legally" using my B-I-L's D plan but Ford is cracking down wanting birth certificates and marriage certificates etc...

You guys got it! Ford has really been cracking down. "Immediate family members," meaning spouse and children only. No in-laws, out-laws, s/o's, 3rd cousins, etc.

I retired from ford, and I got a post card in the mail, that the company wants us to give out X plan numbers to anyone looking for a new car,but that will bust your butt if you use an A or Z plan and you are not in your family.

On a $50K truck I save $2000 over the X Plan on my truck with the D Plan. I got the truck for well below invoice. I also got the Extended warranty at the D Plan price. Dont forget about that one.

Yep its immediate family. I had to provide my Birth Certificate, my brothers birth certificate, my fathers birth certificate and my mothers birth certificate. Lucky for me this was my 3rd vehicle thru the D Plan so I knew the dance. Have them all in a folder at home.

Polarbear can you purchase Fleet Vehicles with the D Plan????

PS I did get in contact via cell phone about the trailer. Thanks.

Double check, Ernie. My brother-in-law gave me his D plan pin# 3 weeks ago for the Mustang............and yes, they wanted birth certificates (first time though, and I've used his twice now)

Really ignorant......they give employees 2 a year, why would Ford give a rat's gluteus maximus how they're used??

Here's the whole story........I wanted to put the GT in my son's name. B-I-L checked and Ford ABSOLUTELY does not allow nephews to share the D plan. He then inquired about B-I-L's (since we have used it before) the powers that be checked and it was fine with PROOF!!!

My brother -in -law is mid management (sales manager) at the largest Ford dealership in the world.......pretty sure they have their shtuff together.

Clarification from Ford's website:

lifted from www dplan.ford.com (don't want to link- dealer/employee website)

Who qualifies
· Employees of authorized Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury dealerships, who are entered into the STARS database and qualify for one of the following programs:
o Blue Oval Certified
o Lincoln Mercury Elite (LME)
· Certain family members of the qualifying employee are also eligible to purchase under the Plan and are listed below:
o Spouse
o Parents
o Spouse's parents
o Sons and daughters (including in-laws and step-children)
o Grandchildren
o Brothers and sisters (including in-laws, half and step)
o Same-sex domestic partners of eligible active employees *
o Immediate family members of eligible same-sex domestic partners *
* When audited, the employee must provide a notarized affidavit, dated prior to the sale date, that a same-sex domestic partnership exists. The Company defines a same-sex domestic partnership as a relationship between two people who meet ALL of the following criteria:
· Are the same sex
· Have shared a continuous committed relationship with each other for no less than 6 (six) months, intend to do so indefinitely, and they have no such relationship with any other person
· Are jointly responsible for each other's welfare and financial obligations
· Reside in the same household
· Are not related by blood to a degree of kinship that would prevent marriage from being recognized under the laws of their state of residence
· Must reside in a state where marriage between persons of the same sex is not recognized as a valid marriage, or, if residing in a state which recognizes same-sex unions, enter into such union as recognized by the state
· Each is over the age of 18, of legal age, and legally competent to enter a contract
· Neither is married to a third party

Who Doesn't qualify:

Non-employees, including agency or contract personnel.
Employees who terminate their employment, effective with the date of termination.
All other family members not mentioned under "Who's Eligible?", including but not limited to:
grandparents
cousins
uncles
aunts
nephews
nieces
All others not specifically mentioned as eligible in the preceding section
