deal or no deal

I went up to the local pick and pull looking for parts for my truck and they tell me that they don't have any on the lot but one of the guys behind the counter tells me that he has a 75 f100 or 150 long bed standard cab 2wd w/o engine that he will sell me for $400. has the three on the tree. From what I understand the truck in relativly clean and mostly complete. does this sound like a good deal? I thought so but I wanted to get some other oppinions on it first. Of course I would be looking at the truck before I got it but I just got to thinking about it and decided to ask

Without seeing it, it's really hard to say.

What would you be planning on doing with the truck?
Putting and engine and driving it?

I would say its a good deal if you need over $400. worth of parts for your truck and the parts on the donor truck you need are good.Or If its in better shape than yours its a good deal to swap your motor into it.Is $400. his bottom dollar or is there room to negotiate?

This is another case where one must be in the presence of the vehicle to determine value.

I would say NO it isn't worth that much..but I can't see the truck.

The parts that I want are the grill, pass fender, tailgate, and misc trim in interior. To buy them at a junk yard would be well over 400 so I thought that it would be a good idea. Also if the truck is a AC cab then I want to get the ac dash and bezel and all that good stuff to put factory air in my truck instead of the under dash unit. The way that I figgure it is that if I don't get that many parts off of it then I can sell some of the big things, keep some of the hard to find things and scrap the rest. There is no chance that I will be taking anything off of my truck to put on this one.

IF the grille is in perfect shape, and body has no dents on the body panels you want, with the right interior, and plenty of good parts you'd be albe to sell(part out), then I'd say it be ok.

I got a grille surround with grille, bumper, 3 interior trims aroud the gauge cluster, with about 3 gauge clusters, a metal trim around the glove box, and full of little misc. parts for $50. Just need to find a good junkyard, and make friends with the owner.
