Front axle bearing torque (2wd)

Front axle bearing torque (2wd)
Hey out there. Sorry in advance if this is a little long but want to get enough info in.
Have a 97 F150, 2wd, with about 101k miles. Recently I did a brake job on it and replaced the warped front rotors. While I had it apart I noticed the bearings were a little dry and the outers were slightly crunchy so, replaced both inner and outer bearings.
It's been about 3k miles since I did the work and now I'm getting a rumble/whinning from the front left. Sounds like a bearing/s to me.
I realize these are non-sealed, tapered roller bearings. In the past I've always put these on using the touchy-feely method. Tighten, rotate the hub until snug and then back the nut off a little bit. In this case I couldn't find any info regarding replacement and I wasn't able to find torque specs anywhere (Haynes manual, 4 or 5 pages of search results here) and was wondering if anyone knew if there is a torque spec on the hub nut?
I thought I tightened them to relative to how they came off but, to be honest, I was doing some front axle work on my wifes Saab (sealed bearings) the same week and may not have been paying attention on the truck. Could have overtightened the hub nuts. Guess I'll know when I take it apart.
Thanks for any help.
