This morning at 7:25 am (EST) a file which contains forum permissions got corrupted. All users including myself were locked out of the forums. As a precaution I took down the entire site, restored files from backups and rebuilt the database.
Total downtime was about 4 hours. No posts were lost. I apologize for any inconvenience caused to anyone.
Glad to see it's up again. I was on it this morning when it happened, and figured your be right on it. Thanks for all of your efforts to support this site. I've only been a member for about a year, but have been browsing the site for about 4 years. Now that I own a Ford (as of two weeks ago), I am also a supporter. The amount of knowledge I gain from here is more than worth the cost of the membership. Thanks again
Aren't you supposed to be resting? I figured as much, thanks for getting it back online, even though you're supposed to be taking it easy (like that ever happens, huh?) I can't hardly stand to do nothing, especially when there is so much to be done... personal downtime sucks.

Yeah, I'm supposed to be resting but when the site goes down I'm the only one who can fix it. One the reasons it was down for so many hours is because I wasn't going to stress about it. Take it down, take my time and take it easy.
I'm basically resting, watching a lot of TV, and dying thinking about that Roushcharger waiting to be installed. Signing out.
Yeah, our other developer and I were setting up a test system (preparing for software upgrade and don't want to try it on the live server first) and copied file there we shouldn't have. It brought down the test server.... and then the live server. Had to take the site down while we went into panic mode and contacted software support for the product.
Ken, I'd be jumping up and down yelling and screaming at the vendor if I spent the money you guys did only to have it go down for something silly like that.
Let me count the ways I do NOT miss working in IT operations.
Oh... trust me, I was upset. I was on the phone with them instantly, and let them know how I felt on their site. That they can remotely disable software I paid for doesn't sit well with me.

Simply an automated response to seeing the license key on a testing domain rather than www.ford-trucks.com. It can't disearn a test domain from someone trying to run a pirated copy. I think given the small size of their client base it ought to have manual remove before remote deactivation.
