question about seatbelt mounts

question about seatbelt mounts

hey guys
i bought a set of upper seatbelt mount plates from midfifty i guess im not reading the instructions right but my question is does the plate go in front of the cab stiffner frame or behind any help from anybody that has used these would be greatly appreciated thanks!!!

I put mine on the inside. The way I figured it was...if I put it on the outside, it's only strength would be the screws holding it on. That way, all the screws have to do is hold it up. Aw, just remembered...not only did it go inside, I had to use 1/4" spacers so the headliner would fit under that lip. I hope that made sense.

Yep, on the inside. The support strength comes from where the edges attach to the window frames. I welded mine in and ran a bead on the bottom as well. Good luck, Jag

thats what i thought i think im gonna add a 1/4 spacer also on the window lip
