Question wiring harness

I have a 1985 f250 with 6.9 diesel
i need to replace the wiring harness connector that runs along left side of frame to rear cross member.. there, it plugs into to the stop, turn bulbs, plate lamps harness..i need to replace both of those connectors at the rear cross member... are the harness connectors from 1987 f series
the same as 1985? they do look different
or do i need to stay with 1984-1986

Thanks

I am not sure about the style connectors. There may be a difference also, if you have factory tow wiring.

I would check the wire colors. If you have every wire color you need for your truck, I would not worry about the style plug. I am assuming you are going to get both sides, so I do not see that it would matter(some people are bothered by un-original wiring techniques, and I can understand that).

I would get the whole rear harness from the donor truck going up to the lights, and snip off the plug going up the frame rail. Then you would only have to splice and solder the wires going up front.
