05XLT has agreed to renting a car for that weekend - we intend to enter it in the Mud Bog. He is in the Las Vegas area so lets all make suggestions as to which vehicle he rents, and where.
The rules for a Street entry are simple;
1. Current registration and license,
2. DOT approved street tires no larger than 33",
3. Factory type engine - Ford to Ford, GM to GM
4. Open headers, under chassis only
5. 4, 6, and 8 cylinders will run together (what of the V10?)
6. Single carb or fuel injection
7. No nitrous
8. Turbos, or Superchargers must be factory installed.
And, of course there is an unlimited class - you run whatever you bring.
Now he has to drive it up so we should get something comfortable (or not )
I suggest a Lincoln Navigator with the biggest engine he can get but maybe a RamCharger or a Tahoe would be faster? Can you rent a Dodge with the Viper engine?
I suggest Hertz (I would take the extra insurance!) but do not know the best rental place in the Las Vegas area - any suggestions?
Yeah, Andym and Broncobabe will be there. I know their just dyin' to hit the hot springs in Austin. (not to mention the hot springs in that dusty ol' Fallon hotel )
You guys are showin up, aren't you Andy?

Leeroy, your scaring me with that suggestion for a competition bogger description. That's my truck. Well, except for the 250 part, mine's a 350.
I hope your not trying to tempt my wild side with a drunkin dare. My wife would kill me!

Well, you know that the mud in fallon is fairly shallow, & it is side by side racing, so with the potential of the 6.0 & the narrower tires, I think you would be very competative, & probably even dominate the stock class,
That is, unless your scared,

If you had ever pissed my wife off, you would be scared too.
She would cut me off my allowance, among other things.

I'll be side by side with ya (in spirit), chearing from the sidellines, getting a mud bath.
You could probably just hose me off when you wash your truck after the drags. Just tie me up to the bumper like a trophy buck when you cruise through the car wash.
Oh wait, you probably wouldn't clear the roof of a car wash with that beast would ya?
Lookin forward to meeting our fearless chapter leader this weekend. See ya there 05xlt. We have faith in ya.

Aah come on now Clint, he'll be there. Gotta have faith in our Nevada Chapter Leader. Besides, how can he not, when even the Northern California Leader is going to be there. Haaaa, we'll shame him into coming. Haaaa

I'm afraid Skip's truck would be pushing you through with his front differential to the upper back hatch of your cheroke. His bumper wouldn't exactly line up.

I always wanted a jeepster - we could make it into a roadster with Skip's help!
