So if anyone could help me out right now that would be great. i was looking for the fireing order on the motor, and the cylander placement order, and the #1 cylander on the distributer cap, pretty much anything i need to re run the wires. any help would be appreciated, and thanks in advance to any help.

Depending on which 5.0 you have, the firing order is either 1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8 (regular 5.0) or 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8 (5.0HO and 351W). It's normally on a little sticker somewhere near the radiator or on the underside of the hood itself (can't remember which). The cylinders are numbered 1-4 front to back on the passenger side, then 5-8 front to back on the driver's side. There's should be a raised '1' by the terminal for the #1 cylinder on the dizzy cap, and rotation is...dang, I can't remember...it's in my Haynes manual, though. It's either clockwise or counterclockwise! You could have someone crank the engine over while you watch the dizzy with the cap off.

If the Haynes manual can be trusted, 1994 and later 5.0L engines have a firing order of 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8.

Here is a graphic depiction of the cylinders:
-----------
FIREWALL

4 8
3 7
2 6
1 5

GRILL
----------

O7DGM mentioned that the Number 1 cylinder is at the 1 o'clock position on the distribution cap, please note that the rotor runs counter-clockwise.

I'm sure not postive, I think, perhaps. All but one of my engines are inline.

Anyway, that's the firing order noted for the 1994 & later 5.0L V-8 engines in Haynes.

My Haynes says:1994 and earlier 5.0 firing order 1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8 counter clockwise rotation.

#1 is second position to the right of rear clip, # 6 is second pos. to the left (CC) of the front clip

if it points to the right it should be #1 you can also pull the #1 spark plug out and turn the engine over ontil you feel air coming out .this is the compression stroke.line up the marks and the rotor will be at #1. Hope this helps.
