Come out and watch the kids perform at their best. It is fun to watch the differant shows put on. Some are more interesting than others.

I may try to catch one of the shows near me. I'll try for the one on the 23.

 

Arlington, Eads, or Cordova are fairly close to me. I'll try to catch one of those. I used to be in the band when in high school, and really miss those days.

 

Hey Lariat97,
Hope to see ya out there at Arlington this weekend. Last weekend was a mixed emotion. The first compitiion we attended at Milan High School, we did not do very well. I think we got 3rd place band and that was about it. Then we went on to Gibson county high for the second compitition. From the first note, we knew it was gonna be sumpthin good! The band took 1st place in the following catagories- Field commander, band, color guard, general effects, music, soloist, spirit. A third place trophy went to percussion as they had a bass drum fall. Then we took Grand Champion over all the other bands and to top it off, The most coveted trophy of the compitition- The Mayors Cup!!!!!!!!!
So, come on out and see if the kids deserve the accolades!!

 

How did the Arlington show go? I didn't go since it was raining here most of the day. I'll try to catch you at Briarcrest next weekend. Its only a few miles from my house.

 

What time does the competion start? I hope to make this event & the car show in Colliervile too. They are about 5 miles apart so it should be easy to make both.

 

The Briarcrest Christian High School Marching Invitational will be this Saturday, 9/30, beginning at 5:30 p.m. There will be 16 of the best bands in 3 states competing. Please come and enjoy the performances. Tickets are $6.00.

The kids did so-so at Arlington. We got lucky as the weather held off for our field performance. Just before the awards ceromony, the bottom fell out and drenched us for about 10 minutes.

Come on out tonight as the weather is supposed to be real nice, albight a bit chilly.

 

I will see you at Briarcrest tonight. I'm worn out right now from walking around the car show in Collierville today. I took about 60 pics & didn't even begin to get pics of all the great cars there. There were over 350 entries. It was a great show. I'll be looking for your truck. My truck doesn't have the big FTW sticker in the back window now so you might not reconise it. I'm looking forward to the show.

 

Thanks westtntrucker for inviting me to the band contest. I really enjoyed watching those kids. Every band there was fun to watch. Those kids worked hard & put on a great show. Congrats to your band for a great performance. I was impressed by them to say the least.

Thanks for coming out and helping out. Sorry for the delay in a response. As soon as i got home at 2:30 sunday morning, had to get ready to leave for work at 4:30 a.m. No rest for the wicked i reckon.
We had this weekend off. I slept in till 10:30 a.m this morning. Dang it felt good! Then layed around the house all day and watched college ball.
