Naaaah, it's more just annoying than anything else.

The only thing I would worry about is getting dirt, grime, crap in there that might make engaging them difficult.

As far as damaging them though, I would HIGHLY doubt a little rattling is gonna damage those puppies.

I had the exact same problem on my 99 F-250. I found that the original stock snap rings fit perfectly. I did have to snip off a little bit of the outward bend but they still can be removed easily. been in for 2 years now, no problems.

I thought of this too, but I did not want to modify the OE rings if by chance I wanted to reinstall the Ford hubs. But come to think of it, I'll bet they'll still work with the Ford hubs too. Did you have to completly remove the 90deg bend?.

They will indeed still work with the factory hubs. I just left enough of the bend to get a hold of or get a small screw driver under. I'm real pleased with my mile marker hubs.

Good post!! My markers didn't come with the snap rings Ill use the stockers until they come in.
