I started using Redline about a month ago. What I have noticed the most is that the idle got a lot quieter. I use half a bottle per tank.

all this talk about usld, it seems the only two things you loose are lubricity and btu's in the fuel, why not just add a quart of straight 30W dino oil to the tank at fill-up?

I know this sounds weird, but in my manual it says that this vehicle will run on usld. I find it comforting, but how much testing did ford do to come to that conclusion. personally I use diesel kleen and marvel mystery oil as additives.

Because motor oil is not meant to be burned in the combustion process, it will clog your fuel filters and it will clog your injectors. For what we pay for these trucks, why would anyone suggest such? Read you manual... it says not do it and this is so "old school".

Use a name brand fuel additive (with no alcohol) and enjoy.

I use diesel kleen and red line now and alternate between fillups (1 bottle) for about 75gal is what I use (w/aux tank) and I'm going to try ford's stuff if you can still get it??? can you? I found recently that a lot of places are out...something about the new fuel laws?...I still have some left...anyways I do it because I hope that its keeping my EGR clean...other than that I have noticed NO difference in milage or anything else.

I've used the Redline Fuel Catylist for years in an older diesel on my Bobcat -- never had a fuel related issue (I don't think that fuel system could even handle the 500ppm LSD w/o it). I only mix it at their maintenance rate... Haven't put anything in the new truck's fuel tank other than what comes out of the pump. Last fillup was with ULSD....

Gopedoligist: If you're in the Bay Area and have filled up since 9/2, you're already running ULSD!
