Normal operating temp?

What is the normal operating temp on a powerstroke?. I am checking the coolant with a temp gun. And how hot is too hot?

The standard thermostat is 195, some guys run a 205 therm. Where are you taking the temps from, upper rad hose, top of rad, engine block ect?

It may be difficult to get a temp reading of any value unless you're runing down the road.

most engines are happy between 195-210* running, but these run cool idling.

my 95 with the stock 203 thermostat runs 195-205
