leather seats into XLT or go Lariat?

Hi all! I've a F250 XLT with cloth seats. Due to anti dog smell and anti hair needs, I want to upgrade to leather seats. Would it be easier / cheaper to install leather seats into my XLT, or sell the F250 XLT and buy a lariat? I think I can sell and upgrade in my area for about $4,000.

Thanks!

well along with the leather seats you may also get more ding and whistles with the lariat...it all depends on what you want...if you get the lariat you can get a sunroof, climate control...and all that other fun stuff...but its your call and im not sure how much it costs but im sure its not 4000 to get leather seats

Thanks counter, the bells and whistles on the lariat would be nice, but not worth (to me) $4k by themselves.

Anyone know what year seats will fit in a 2003 F250?

Thanks!

A fantastic pair of seat covers (custom fit, e.g., Wet Okole) is way less. Neoprene should hide the smell nicely. Treat the cloth for smell with enzyme, cover, done. $800 tops.

My fellow IL bro, find a auto interior shop near you and have them show you some LEATHER replacement seat covers, like www.katzkin.com
if you need any help, let me know

ebay motors always seems to have leather seats (used) from the Excursion and also pick-ups. Take a look there.

Have to agree with the other folks. It would be cheaper & easier to do something along the lines of a seat cover. Both Wet Okole & Katzkin make top notch, custom made, seat cover sets; both are well liked & rated throughout the various segments of the automotive aftermarket.

I would hold on to your 7.3 and get new leather seats.

The 7.3's are in demand!

There is a shop here that specializes in auto interiors. They will remove your seats and can do anything from a single patch repair (they will replace that specific panel of material that is damaged) or they can custom reupholster the seats in any material you choose - including leather. About 3 years ago, they told it would cost around $1000 for something like that.

Look around for an auto interior shop local to you. I am sure you can find one that can replace your stock seating with leather.
