Seems reasonable. I paid 10K for mine, almost identically equipped, back in Feb with 70K on the clock.

DId the CARFAX state whether it had ever been leased or auctioned? If so, the mileage might be questionable. If it was only titled once, then mileage is probably realistic. Ask the dealer if there is any of the original warranty on it that can be transferred to you since it only has 15k. If so, get it in writing.

Sounds like a good deal to me also. I have a identical 2002 explorer that I paid $12,300.00 with 52,000 on it. I would diffenetly check into the miles though.

Carfax states that it was only titled to one person. The dealer did tell me up front when I ask him what Aution it came from. The remander of the warranty will be transfered he has to check into the purchase date to see if it can be trandfered.

Ask the service manager if the tranny additive has been put in.

Are you sure the clock is right, had one place missread the odom. Before 1K uses a tenth, after1K, no tenths. If true, go for it, maybe worth a little dickering.

Some Gen III Explorers had an incorrect formula tranny fluid installed at the factory. The tranny additive wasn't a recall but some sort of customer satisfaction program. Your service manager should be able to tell from the VIN whether it was needed, and if so whether or not it was added.

It was added and I pick it up on Thursday 9/21/06 Thats the quikest that I could get back to the dealer and pick it up. The total paid was $9,578.50 Did I do good on talking this guy down or did I still pay to much. Please be honest with me. And the milage is correct I checked it my self when I drove it.

We would all like to talk the price down as low as possible. If you feel good about the truck, then you got a good deal. Take care of it, and it will take care of you. Drive on and have a good ride.

Sounds good, nice dealing. 13K was a bit high even with the low miles, its still 4+ years old.
