I am not sure where I am going wrong but every time I try to load an avatar, it tells me the selected file is not a jpeg or whatever so I double check the address and everything is right. Am I doing something wrong?

Sounds like you don't an an acceptable file for FTE use.

What is the end tag of the file you are trying to upload ?

bmp,gif,etc ?

You need to make sure it is no larger than 60 x 60 px and in an format FTE will accept.

All right. I will answer these 1 by 1.

1. The pictures I have tried are of police cruisers or dogs. Nothing that I would deem inappropriate especially given some of the avatars I have seen.

2. The end tag is jpg.

3. All the pitures I have tried were 60x60 pixels or less.

I hope this will help.

Are using the browse feature in the "Edit avatar" area of your CP to upload the pic?

Or are you trying to use a pic from some other source ?

I have a .JPG file that is 60x60 pixels (2.39Kb). I tried loading the picture from my PC and I get the following error:

Parse error: parse error, unexpected $ in /data/httpd/ford-trucks.com/htdocs/forums/includes/functions_upload.php on line 395

Any suggestions?

Totoro. I've been having the same problem. I thought it was just me, and I was going to wait awhile to see if it works itself out. Maybe someone else will pipe in.

Again, People should be awares that certrain areas of FTE may be Offline or shut down so more important areas will have full resources during maintenance ...which can happen at any time.

When the boss is working on installing a new server or data base, the last thing he may be worried about it the User Gallery or avatar uploading.
He needs those resource being used by them to do the other work.

If over 10 days at 24/7 ... the situation doesn't change..then there is something to worry about.

Think of FTE's operation and certain features being down ....like arriving at the dry cleaners at 11:00 am only to find a sign on the door that says:
Gone to the bank for change..be back in 10 minutes

That's what I figured Mil1ion. I wasn't too concerned when I noticed the problem on Monday. I figured if it goes past a couple of weeks, then there really is a problem.
Thanks for the info.
