'04 Air Suspension Question

Just bought an '04 EB with air suspension. When I turn the truck off the front end drops down about 3"-4". Start the truck up and ride height returns to normal height. I see others that maintain a higher height than mine. Is something wrong with mine? If so, what can I troubleshoot or is it a dealer only troubleshoot.

Thanks in advance,
Shep

Wink

That is the norm if you have air susp.. The ones you are looking at most likely dont have air ride susp.. Mine doesnt... It stays same all the time.

I am comparing my '04 air ride to other air rides. I know 2 that drive '06's and no drop whats so ever. Just wondering if the '04's are susposed to drop down the way the Lincolns do or if I have a problem.

Honestly ... every air ride i have seen drops.. it goes up when there is enough weight to make suspension unlevel.... then when you kill it.. get out and close door it goes down... I dont know any other way than that.. Maybe they didnt have enough weight for theirs to go up .. therefore it wont go down...

Trouble shooting link for 4 corner air leveling system

Here is a link that discusses air ride suspensions. It provides some basic trouble shooting and diagnostics for Lincoln and Expeditions.

Not all Expeditions and Navigators come with the 4 corner air leveling system. That might be why you don't see all of them drop. I have 190,000 miles on my navigator and I am just now looking to replace the air shocks. So, it sounds like yours is operating properly.
