1990 f150 no power to coil
Hello, i'm having a problem with my truck. The other day i went to start it for a kid who's going to buy it, and the truck started, ran for about 15 or 20 seconds, then died like somebody shut it off. It has a new tfi in it, i checked power to the coil, and found none. So i replaced the ignition switch, because i was told that's what it was, but that wasn't it. When i put power to the coil the truck starts and runs perfect. Any ideas as to what would cause this? Any help is appreciated, thanks...

I think I would look very close at the Ignition Coil Connector. The same wire that powers the coil also turns on the EEC power relay and if the power relay is not made the engine will not run. But when you put power on the coil you could be back feeding the power relay and ignition module.
Does anything happen when you turn on the key? (radio, gauges, ...)
