Question P Codes

Hello everyone, I am new to this site so be gentle.
I have a 2001 Ranger 4x4 4.0L that I have retrieved the following codes.

P1451 EVAP Emission Control System Vnt Cntrl Circ Malf.

P1401 Differential Press Feedbak EGR Circuit High Input.

So what parts should be replaced? I am not the best backyard Mech but I can get by.

Thanks in advance
Doug

There's a sticky at the top of this forum that talks about the DPFE and EGR systems on the truck.

Follow the testing advice if you can, the codes don't always pinpoint the problem when it comes to the EGR system. Read the sticky on the subject and you'll learn more than you ever wanted to know.

I'm currently duking it out with my truck on similar issues, one thing I learned far too late - test before replace.

Did you find the information there? If not I can post a link if you're having trouble.

Thanks for the tip on the DPFE. I will check it this weekend. But the sticky on the EVAP did not have the P1451 that my truck shows.

The P1451 is a non operating evap cannister solenoid condition.

So go there & check the solenoids windings for continuity, it's wirng & electrical connector for looseness, pin or socket damage, or corrosion & if all that checks out, test the connector for operating voltage.
