4x4 on 1997 truck

After taking truck to ford dealer and having it put on machine, they said it was the shift motor. after investing in the trouble shooting service fee and installing the part, i find that it is actually the dash switch and I am out all this money. It is dishearting that the ford dealership did this. I now have a shift motor for sale because my does work. Anybody suggest where I can go to sell this?

You can try to sell it on e-bay, or at your local swap meet.
Sorry to hear that a Ford dealership did that to you.

i work in a tranny shop and we do not charge to test drive and put a scanner on a vehicle. it has been my experience that most dealership dont either. we had an explorer that we replaced the trans. case in and it came back 3 times. twice to replace the trans. case under warr. we could not figure out why it kept failing. the third time we figured out that the sensor for the auto 4wd was bad and causing it to jump in and out of 4wd. the problem never showed up on the scanner. sometimes problems are hard to pinpoint. the dealer should atleast cut you a deal or gave you a break.
