89 302 No PCV Valve?
I have an 89 ford f-150. When I took out my air filter I had oil in the air box. I wanted to try to replace the pcv valve before doing a compression test. When I went to the auto parts store there was no listing for a pcv valve. Does my engine not have a pcv valve? I am curious. The truck doesnt smoke or anything, so I am wondering what is goin on. Please help. Thanks for your time. -Jake

A good mechanic friend of mine suggested that I always get PCV valves from the dealer to ensure that they are engineered for the exact application, not just some one size fits all type of thing like you might get at a parts house. He said the same thing about clutches and thermostats. He doesn't make as much money by sourcing these parts from the dealer, but there's a better chance of vehicles not coming back with the same problem again in a week or two.
