im new to the ford world .. im wondering if a manifold from A 400 BIG BLOCK WILL FIT MY 390 BIG BLOCK THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR ALL REPLIES RUSS

 

nope the intake manifold from a 390 fits under the valve cover the 400's do not

 

No it will not.
FE series engines are unique in design.

 

The 400 is a "small" block to use cheby terms also. Some parts interchange or can be used on the 302/351W/351C/351M and even the 429/460 (distributor) but nothing works with the FE/FT engines.

 

just so im up to speed so to speek or at least on the same page ... lol.. is the 351 mod. a big block ?? i thought it was a de tuned 400 .. big block pull small block mpg?? also thought thay were one in the same im gathering their isnt to much interchangeabilty to the fe .. i noticed the oddness to the motor when i saw 4 pushrods going through my intake ...did thay have to make that darn thing so heavy ??? im gonna have a bear of a time seting it back on their without destorying my new gaskets .... thanks to all that have taken the time to set me stright and point me in the right direction ... russ

 

no the 351 mod is not a big block and neither is the 400. The FE is its own famlily of motors and nothing interchanges with other motors. And to lighten that intake buy one from edelbrock will save you close to 50 lbs.
