want to upgrade engine

I have a 98 F150 V6 4.2L 4x4 with a 4 in lift and 33 in tires the gear ratio is already set for this but I want to put a V8 in I was thinking a 302 maybe. But not sure what all I have to trade out to make it work and if I would have to redo the gera ratio with the added power. also if the trans and transfer case would have to be up graded are traded out.

It would be easier to use a 4.6 or a 5.4 to change. It might be easier to trade for a v8 truck than to make this swap. I'd have to have a complete donor truck before I would try it You will have to change the wiring harness .ecu ,exhaust, radiator & much more to do it. Its a tough swap

Thats what it looked like to a few others I have talked to I'am still toying with what to do I got a good bit of money into it with other mods so I'am going to keep it but the 4.2L I have in it is about done for so got to come up with something. Another idea was another 4.2L with a better cam and do what I can with the computer to get more power have any ideas, to improve the 4.2L I'am still learning alot about engines myself any help would be very appreciated.
Thanks
Jeremy
