lincoln 429

Ive got a 429 c9ve block that I'm going to swap into my 63 f100. now I've seen the engine mount kits in lmc truck and they say that they will not work with lincoln or mercury engines. if this is so are there any companies that do make them, or private parties?

The early Lincoln engines were actually a 462 CID engines and a different engine family. The 1968 and on Lincoln motors are the same as the truck motors.

You can use it as Bear 45/70 said. I installed my 76 Lincoln 460 with no issues. If you plan on installing the matching c6 you might have to adapt the universal crossmember since the Lincoln c6 has a different tail housing that mounts with 2 rubber mounts vice the single underside Ford c6 mount. The holes are spread farther apart. If you do install the Lincoln C6 just pick up a Ford tail shaft housing for $20 off ebay. They are always popping up there.

Sweet, this knowledge will make the swap a whole lot less stressful, um, one more dumb question. I havn't spent a whole lot of time looking at the c6 what would indicate that it was a lincoln c6 and not a ford? The reason I ask is because the fellow that I bought the engine tranny combo from had it in a 56 f100. Obviously a 63 and 56 are way different but would he maybe have had to chang a few things when he installed it in his old effie?

Possibly. Im my gallery I will pull out a picture of the c6 tech and put it in my main gallery if you want to look at it. If not I have my digital camera sitting here.

Well here is what a Ford C6 tail housing looks like. The tail shaft is standing on end in the picture with the mounting surface on the left side. On Lincoln housings there is no mounting flange on the bottom. It is rather 2 inches back and has the flanges on each side.

im betting the reason they say the lincoln block wont work is that its got the wrong oil pan on it... just go to www.summitracing.com and get the engine swap oil pan... then the kit you were looking at should work

The 56 has almost the identical front suspension set up that the 63 does. If you have a rear sump oil pan then you have nothing to worry about.
