welded in patchpanels andnow please help me out!

hey guys I put a set of the big bed patchpanels in the bed of my 1995 f-150. I got them welded into place and i used these special sheetmetal visegrips to bend the sheetmetal so the panel when sat into place is sunk into the existing metal (where its laped 3/8 of a inch). well i got it all together and welded into place. Now my problem is i took my time and welded it all in but still where the seams are its about 1/4-3/8 deep from the existing surface. i am guesing it warped still a little when welding it. I am having troubles trying to get anything inside between the inner and outer bedside to help push the seam out some. so what can i do to get the seam out a little? i wouldn't mind the seam if it wasn't that far back. please let me know what you guys can come up with. also i cannot swing a hammer up in there either.
thanks again,
jimmy

Pictures are worth a thousand words. But, can you get a tie down strap to it and pull it into submission? Maybe even weld a tab somewhere on it, pull it, then grind the tab back off?
