T18skyguy is gaining momentum as a positive member of FTE.
The Motorcraft filter is made by Purolator and is a Purolator hybred. It's a real good filter. The Mobil one is made by Champion and is excellent quality and ideal for extended intervals due to it's synthetic media. Synthetic media is better for extended intervals cause it wont start to break down from engine acids the way paper does. Both are great filters but I like the Mobil 1 for its heavy weight-feels real solid-like a brick in the hand.

I wonder if it's any better than the Motorcraft? Thanks!
I run Mobil 1 10w/30 and a Mobil 1 equivalent of the FL820S in my 3.0 Duratec and have UOA done on it at 7500 miles and it is still operating fine.

5000 miles on that combination is kind of expensive.
