Seat Cleaner

Does any body have a prefrence for removing dirt and stains from their cloth seats? I've got an '06 with cloth seats and they have some water stains, coffe spills and the like and I'd like to clean them but don't want to cause any discloration either. What cleaners work the best? What brands do I steer clear of?
Thanks for the help, Chris

like to use a upolstry foam and a brush to work it out. i have also used a steam cleaner like you would use of furniture or small spots on carpet.

Whatever you do, don't use oxyclean. While in the carpet cleaning industry, I came across numerous carpets that people used oxyclean to try to remove stains only to be left with a big red or purple, permanent discoloration.

The cheapest way is to use a shop vac and a spray bottle with a solution of hot water and a SMALL pinch of dry laundry powder. A professional upholstery tool cleans by spraying hot cleaning solution on the fabric as you pull the tool towards you and immediately sucks up the solution as the vac head passes the sprayed area. Bear in mind that acidic substances like coffee and kool-aid can stain permanently.

i work for an apartment complex and the guy the cleans the carpets there can get coffee and kool-aid stains out. for kool-aid he uses a rag and i think he said viniger but not sure and then lays a iron on it. he charges like $8 each time that iron touches the rag. for coffee he has some sort of a chmical. they can even dye the carpet back to match if there is a bleach spot or discoloration.

Yep, it's pretty hard to stain a solution dyed fiber such as that in a cheap polypropylene/olefin berber; most apartment complexes we cleaned had this type of carpet installed for that very reason.
