Monster Truck Event Reno
Just in case anyone hasn't heard of the Monster Truck event in Reno on the 26th of August, here's to inform you all. We have an FTE member (SkippedLink) who is planning to compete in the mud bog part of the event. It looks like I will probably be going, as long as I don't get caught on overtime at work for that day. Chances look very good that I will be able to be there. Bdox also has expressed that he will be attending, and we are planning to meet there.
This would be a good opportunity for a chapter meet. I hope that some of you might be able to show, but understand if it is too far i.e. Vegas folks. Although it is at Boomtown, and getting a room at the Boomtown Casino might be a fun event for some of you outoftowners from down South.
The event begins at 7:00 pm, and they begin letting people in at 6:00. The tickets are only $15. if purchased in advance, and $17. if purchased at the gate. Kids are $12.
Hope to see some of you there. If it is do-able, lets plan a rendezvous and chear on a fellow FTE'er.

Ok, so I guess this chapter will be slow getting started. Today is the day that Skippedlink is competing. Well, Bdox, Skippedlink and myself will be meeting up there at Boomtown. I will check my PM's one more time this early afternoon to see if anyone will be able to show. If not, well, maybe next time eh?

2000excursion, Man, I wish I would have checked the chapter forum one more time yesterday before heading to Reno. It would have been great for us to meet up with you as well. We did manage to meet up 3 members, me, Skippedlink, and Bdox. Not bad for the first Successfull Chapter Meet for the Northern Nev Guys. Would have been great to have 4.
I think in the future, for future events, we need to have a little more communication prior to the meet. I had virtually front row seats for the Moster Truck Event, and could have saved a few seats for Bdox and his family, as well as for anyone else who was interested, if I only would have thought about it. SkippedLink was watching over that awesome 49 Ford Truck of his like a mother hawk, so he probably wouldn't have been interested in general seating.
Hey, it also might have been cool to have arranged some seating back by Skipped's rig and watched the event from there. Oh well, you know what they say about hindsight. Next time a little more planning eh?
SkippedLink unfortunately didn't get to compete with his truck at this event. Kind of sucked as I am sure he was looking forward to getting after it with that beast he has built. Man, what a nice truck!!! Anyway, he will be competing September 30 at Fallon so we will get another chance to see him in action. I'll let SkippedLink post the announcement on that event though.
I have to say, I was really happy that we did in fact get to personally meet up with some of the folks on the chapter. Great bunch of people, and I am looking forward to member's interest in this chapter growing with time.
