Cement?

It looks as though I drove through some wet concrete. I'm not sure if thats what it is, but whatever it is is splattered all across the lower half of my car. It looks like I just drove through some mud, but the mud won't wash off. I even tried rubbing compound. Even that wouldn't take it off. The only thing that seems to work is to use my fingernails and really scrape. There is way too much for me to scrape it off with my fingernail. Plus, it can't be good for my paint. Anybody have any idea how I can get this off?

Muriatic (hydrochloric) acid. http://www.athea.com/WebTech_PDFs/14...ve%20cement%22

Test it in an inconspicuous area first... maybe inside of the trunk lid or something.

I have this happen alot, because I work out in housing tracts. Now I am aware, so if I do drive though fresh concrete I wash it off right away.

I am not a nuculear scientist, but Muratic acid etches the hell outta most anything including your skin. I know, I used to use it in the concrete business years ago. Don't put that on your truck skin.

Do this. Spray the affected area with W-D40 or equivelent. Let soak, about ten minutes. Spray area again very liberaly. Then spray area with VERY soapy water. Then gently wipe off concrete resi-due.

The key here is to lubricate the whole paint surface, so when you remove the concrete, it does not scratch anymore paint.

I am sorry to say that where the concrete stuck, it etched your paint. Maybe a clay bar, or polish will help, but ultimatley it is damaged. Or maybe it is just weathered. How ever you look at it!

Happy Ford Trucking!
